The rollercoaster

happy birthday jason! however early. i think you are in vancouver at the moment but if you get a reprieve from parties and events and happen to check my blog, here is a little treat. i thought i would relate a few roller coaster experiences from this past week on my blog.

we went to a park called Yingzi park in the middle of town this week. it has rollercoasters as well as being a normal chinese park with trees and grass roped of for the enjoyment of nobody. The first picture is of us in a small electric boat about to set out around the lake.

This is a video and photo of the roller coaster over the pond...... the pond that you can go boating on.

this video may take some explaining. here we have an unorthodox roller coaster in which you are suspended from the top and are free to swing wide to side in the car. one of the more frightening experiences i have had in china. what is really interesting about this ride is the way it gets you up to the top. basically you will see a giant paddle that spins and forces your car up a spiral incline.

Here we see a swing ride that i rode last year. at one point i reached out and hit some of the leaves of that tree with my hand.
