Hi everyone, i really want to try to blog more. i know i have been lazy about keeping y'all updated about whats going on here. so here's the start of hopefully (but not likely) a renewed basement door blogging experience.
I had heard about some really cool chinese brand sneakers that are becoming popular in other more trendy parts of the world, courtesy of my bro. in law, jason. so a few weeks ago i went to xi'an with some friends and found some really radical shoes. they didnt have my size (obviously) so on returning to taiyuan i set out to find them. this week i did and the store ordered these shoes (below) which i picked up yesterday. the great news is that i made sure that if i wanted to, i could order another pair and since they only cost 35 kuai i can replace these before i return home (if needed). for the record: 35 kuai=$5 (sizes under chinese 44 are only 20 kuai - $3)
they come in a paper bag........ i cannot think of a better way to buy a pair of shoes.

I'm getting very excited about visiting China and seeing my son. And now I can't wait to get my paper bag shoes.
