Hey guys, sorry that i havent blogged in a while. i find that mornings are best for me to get this type of stuff done. i also find that i have things that take priority in the mornings. sorry.
Chirstmas in May? Yes
It all started when i was walking around my apartment with the song "Doe a deer" from the Sound of Music, stuck in my head. What a weird random song to have stuck in your head. So there i am, me. a name, i call myself. Far; a long long way to run. Sow: a needle pulling thread...... ok, ok, you get the picture. Then later that day i HEAR the song! what? seriously? surely i must have mistaken it for the standard happy birthday song played by street sweeper trucks passing by. But alas the longer i listened, the more clear it became. la a note to follow sow -check- tea a drink with jam and bread -check-. which will bring us back to..... yep thats it. It was not all in my head. It was a truck passing by on the street nine floors below. I must have subconsciously heard it earlier. Ahaaah! So the song ends. This is where it gets good. I go about my business and there it is again. a song stuck in my head. but this time its Eidelwies. I walk to the kitchen, stick my head out the window and the truck is still there, merrily playing Eidelwies. Unbelievable. The song ends and Doe a deer starts up agian. It is a continuous looping tribute to the classic tale of an Austrian family plus a nun trying to escape the evil clutches of their facist Nazi occupiers in the Austrian Apls. So today i hear what i think is "Joy to the world the savior reigns" I walk to the window and what i hear is, "Oh christmas tree." The songs ends, and Doe a Deer starts up again. The best that i can figure is that, the driver decided this morning to through a little christmas cheer into the mix.

Ok, what day was it that you began hearing these
things? Tuesday and Thursday, in my classes, we were watching The Sound of Music (best movie in the world, BTW) and singing "Do a Dear" and "Edelweis" The children were singing it all day on the playground. I think perhaps it was carried through the air. Here are the solfege syllables that are accompanied by fun associations in the song.
Do re mi fa sol la ti Do,
Doe, ray, me, far, sew, la, tea. Doe.
Next time you hear such beautiful music maybe you should go down and make friends with the "Music Man" or just yell out the window.

um. i love this post. but the title has been throwing me off for a couple weeks. i'll think "oh good!" and then i'll think, "wait no.... dang it."
