THE TRIP

i think i summed it up pretty well in a FB comment on a friend's wall so i will save myself the trouble and just paste:

so....turns out. being on my way wasnt the best. i got sick the day i left. i spent the whole day throwing up at home, on airplanes, in the bathroom at o'hare, etc. then after i successfully held down some pretzels half way through my 14 hour flight, i spilled and entire cup of ginger ale all over myself and my seat. upon arrival in country, i found out that my luggage never left chicago. conclusion: on my way=not the best.

one perk was that my seat was in economy plus so slightly more leg room. i was also the very first row so i actually had even more room...... that is until i found out that my movie screen didnt work and i got moved to the back of economy plus. still at least i didnt have to descend the ranks an go sit with the commoners in economy class. they're just a bunch of beggars and thieves back there. in fact they really shouldn't let their kind on planes with higher ups like me. still, they weren't too bothersome.
ok, all sarcasm aside. the first part was true. the trip really was that bad. im still a little sick. its been hard to keep a good attitude. last night as i lay awake from jet lag the weight and emotion of everything (not just the crappy flight but the whole "what am i doing here" thing) unloaded on me. it was tough. im hangin in though. my luggage arrived today. i made myself get out agian and see the campus and got to the store. i actually bought stuff and asked a taxi driver to take me to wo ar ma (3rd, 4th, and 4th tones respectively) (walmart). thanks for all the support.

your sad tale sounds all too familiar. last time we traveled, i started throwing up in lubbock, then continued to do so in dallas, chicago....the whole plane ride there. it was horrible. but i'm glad you're finally there!

As I sit here and post this from a Starbucks where everyone speaks English but they use funny looking money, I both feel for you and am totally jealous. Lifting you up daily, brother.
