Oh, the weather outside is frightful

As i  commuted around plano today, i pondered one of my favorite christmas songs  sung by the great Bing Crosby, White Christmas. Over the last few days we have had a mixture of snow sleet and mist fall over the Dallas area. Admittedly it was not much, but a taste of winter if anything. So today the wintry mix turned to a slow drizzle or mist which was made dirty by the sand spread on the roads in the days before. It was really a pleasant day. Cool mist on my face with a slight breeze. but a bit disappointing because it wasnt snow. i realized that i have never had a white christmas. every year i listen and sing along to the song but it has never actually happened. it occasionally gets colder that normal. and one time we went skiing for christmas but that hardly counts because that wasnt a normal christmas. no presents under the tree. nor spending all day visiting with family. anything else that defines christmas was not important or real to me at that time so no i dont count that one. in my memory we skipped christmas that year and went skiing instead. dont get me wrong, i loved that trip and am well aware that there are people in the family that cherish that christmas as the best one. nevertheless my wish this year is simple. let it snow.

haha. i'm glad that your dad came through on the validation of the non-christmas-christmas....

i think it counts too.... but that doesn't mean you can't still desperately want to see snow on christmas in tejas. that's always a good dream.
snow.
not ice.
